Studi Emosi Antarkelompok : Dampak Stimulus Berita dan Foto Wanita Bercadar pada Kelompok Tidak Bercadar

Pengelompokkan “teroris” pada beberapa pemberitaan nasional menjadi stigma terhadap kelompok perempuan bercadar. Penelitian ini bertujuan 1) Mengetahui pengaruh stimulus foto terhadap perbedaan emosi antarkelompok pada kelompok tidak bercadar dan 2) Mengetahui pengaruh stimulus berita terhadap perbedaan emosi antarkelompok pada kelompok tidak bercadar. Partisipan di dalam Studi 1 terbagi menjadi dua kelompok partisipan, yaitu partisipan FGD yang berjumlah 10 mahasiswa Universitas Sebelas Maret dan lima puluh partisipan yang dipilih dengan menggunakan incidental sampling untuk analisis deskriptif, uji reliabilitas stimulus berita dan foto dengan bantuan aitem pertanyaan emosi antarkelompok, serta eksplorasi emosi spesifik. Hasil Studi 1 mendapatkan hasil bahwa foto dan berita pada stimulus 3 memiliki pengaruh terhadap timbulnya emosi positif, sedangkan stimulus 2 memiliki pengaruh terhadap timbulnya emosi negatif. Berdasarkan hasil kategorisasi di atas dapat diketahui bahwa beberapa emosi spesifik yang muncul adalah Kasihan, Takut, Aneh, Nyaman, Kagum, Senang, Marah, Risih, Miris, Ngeri, Netral, Damai, Kaget, dan Hormat. Studi 2 adalah melakukan uji eksperimen melalui Open Sesame dengan partisipan sebanyak 24 mahasiswa tidak bercadar (5 laki-laki, 19 perempuan, Musia = 19,83). Hasil uji Mann-Whitney menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan emosi positif yang dirasakan antara kelompok yang diberi stimulus foto 2 dengan kelompok yang diberi stimulus foto 3 (sig<0,05). Foto 3 memberikan emosi positif lebih tinggi daripada foto 2. Akan tetapi, tidak terdapat perbedaan emosi negatif yang dirasakan antara foto 2 dengan foto 3, serta tidak terdapat perbedaan emosi baik positif atau negatif pada stimulus berita.
