Melihat Tanpa Menyadari: Implementasi Kebutaan Tidak Disengaja dalam Situasi Dinamis

Inattentional blindness merupakan sebuah fenomena yang mengejutkan bagi kelompok manusia ketika harus menunjukkan perilaku ketidakmampuan dalam melihat perubahan yang ada. Kondisi ini sangat ditentukan oleh kemampuan manusia dalam hal atensi. Penelitian ini ingin melihat lebih jauh peranan stimulus yang lebih dinamis terhadap kemampuan atensi manusia dan tingkat kejadian inattentional blindness. Desain eksperimen yang digunakan adalah one group posttest only design dengan pemberian video sebagai bentuk perlakuannya. Partisipan penelitian ini berjumlah N=35 dengan pembagian perempuan sebanyak 22 orang dan laki-laki sebanyak 13 orang. Â Secara keseluruhan hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini adalah sebagian besar partisipan mengalami ketidakmampuan dalam mendeteksi perubahan-perubahan pada rekaman video yang telah disajikan. Hasil lain juga diperoleh bahwa usia dan gender pada penelitian ini menunjukkan tidak adanya korelasi dengan kemampuan atensi. Penelitian ini memberi kontribusi dalam memahami bahwa manusia dapat gagal dalam melihat objek yang sebenarnya terlihat ketika perhatian individu saat itu terfokus pada hal lain
