PELAKSANAAN PERLINDUNGAN HUKUM TERHADAP KONSUMEN PEMAKAIAN LABEL MAKANAN DI PURWOKERTO

Abstract

The increasing number of processed foods in Indonesia does not indicate the quality of those foods. Yet, the government has not conducted a proper monitoring towards the statements written on the food labels. The lack of monitoring on such labels inflicts consumers to be careful of ensuring the quality of the products. This is hypothesized since some labels are sometimes found to be incautious of clarifying the ingredients inside. Therefore, the Departments of Industry and Trade, of Health, and of Social of Purwokerto have an authority to monitor and give sanctions to the food producers who do not obey the regulation of food labels and halal certificate. This authority is given to assure the consumer protection from the unexpected risks. Key words : processed foods, food labels, monitoring, consumer protection
