Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice or Microsoft Word document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 11-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
  • Make sure the metadata is correctly filled.

Author Guidelines

MANUSCRIPTS WRITING FORMAT  in JUITA: Jurnal Informatika

General Requirements

  1. Accepted manuscripts must be original works that have never been published in any media (journals or proceedings), are not currently under review or accepted elsewhere, and are not being submitted simultaneously to other publication outlets.

  2. Manuscripts must report research in the field of informatics and be written in English using correct grammar and an appropriate academic writing style. Manuscripts must be submitted in *.doc or *.docx format through the online journal system (OJS) and will subsequently undergo peer review by experts in the relevant field.

  3. Each manuscript must be accompanied by a signed statement of authenticity from the author(s) declaring that the work is original, authored by the author(s), and free from plagiarism, with a maximum similarity index of 20%.

Manuscript Writing Rules

1. General Writing Standards

  • JUITA applies strict standards to manuscript preparation.
  • All submissions must be written in correct English grammar and follow an appropriate academic and scientific writing style.
  • Authors must fully comply with the author guidelines and consistently apply the official JUITA template throughout the manuscript.

2. Authorship and Manuscript Length

  • Each manuscript must be authored by at least two contributors.
  • Author information must be written completely and accurately, including:
    - Full author names (without academic titles).
    - If an author does not have a family name, the given name may be repeated.
    - Complete institutional affiliation (institution name and country).
    - A valid email address for each author.
    - An asterisk (*) must be added to the corresponding author’s name if the corresponding author is not the first author.
  • The manuscript must be prepared in a one-column portrait format on A4 paper.
  • Formatting requirements:
    - Font: Times New Roman
    - Font size: 11
    - Spacing: single-spaced
  • The manuscript length is 8 - 10 pages after layout or up to 12 pages in DOCX format, if specified.
  • Manuscripts exceeding the page limit will not be considered.

3. Article Structure and Organization

  • Manuscripts must follow the IMRAD model and consist of the following sections: Title, Author(s) and Affiliation(s), Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Methods, Results and Discussion, Conclusion (and Suggestions), Acknowledgment (optional), and References
  • Title:
    - Consists of 10–15 words.
    - Written briefly, clearly, and representatively.
    - Must use title case format.
  • Abstract:
    - Consists of 100–200 words.
    - Must include background, objectives, methods, results/findings, and conclusions.
  • Keywords: Consist of 3–5 words or phrases.
  • Introduction:
    - Describes the background conditions or problems motivating the research.
    - Includes supporting data from relevant prior studies.
    - Must clearly present the state of the art and gap analysis.
    - The final paragraph must explicitly state the research objectives.
    - A brief theoretical review may be included to strengthen the research foundation.
  • A separate "Discussion" section is not required.
  • Interpretation and critical analysis must be fully integrated into the Results and Discussion section, which should be the most comprehensive part of the manuscript.
  • The proportion of content across sections must be balanced and aligned with the research methodology.

4. Methodological Description

  • The Methods section must describe the research design and procedures in detail.
  • Each stage of the research must be explained step by step.
  • A flow diagram must be included to illustrate the research stages.
  • The Methods section must not include:
    - Definitions
    - Concepts
    - Theoretical explanations
    - Reviews of prior studies

5. Results and Discussion

  • This section must present research findings clearly and systematically.
  • The discussion should critically compare the results with:
    - Relevant theories, and/or
    - Findings from previous related studies.
  • Tables, figures, and charts may be used to support explanation and enhance clarity.
  • The discussion must demonstrate analytical depth rather than descriptive narration.

6. Tables, Figures, and Equations

  • Tables:
    - Must be clear, concise, and not exceed one page.
    - Must not be presented as images.
    - Each table must have a title placed above it.
    - The table title should clearly and adequately reflect the content presented in the table and is expected to consist of at least three words.
    - Tables must be numbered sequentially using Roman numerals (I, II, III, etc.).
    - Each table must be cited in the text prior to its appearance.
  • Figures:
    - Must include captions placed below the images and must be sufficiently descriptive and representative of the figure content, with a minimum length of three words.
    - Must be clear, legible, and have sufficient color contrast.
    - Each figure must be explained in the text.
    - Excessive use of figures is strongly discouraged.
    - Figures must be numbered sequentially (1, 2, 3, etc.) and cited before appearance.
    - Figures must serve a scientific communication purpose rather than a decorative one. Authors should ensure that figures are concise, technically accurate, and free from unnecessary visual embellishments.
    - Infographic-style illustrations, excessive graphical effects, and overly complex layouts are discouraged unless they provide substantial value to the scientific interpretation of the study.
    - Figures should be designed to maintain readability and clarity in both digital and print formats.
  • Equations:
    - Must not be presented as images.
    - Must be created using the equation editor in MS Word.
    - All variables must be clearly defined.
    - Indexes must be written as subscripts.
    - Equations must be numbered sequentially and cited before appearance.

7. Conclusion, Acknowledgment, and References

  • Conclusion:
    - Must be written briefly in a single paragraph.
    - Should clearly summarize the main findings and provide suggestions based on the results.
  • Acknowledgment (optional):
    - Limited to institutions or individuals who significantly contributed to the research, particularly research funders or data providers.
    - It is strictly prohibited to acknowledge any of the authors.
  • References:
    - Must follow the IEEE citation style.
    - Must include at least 15 references.
    - References should be published within the last five years.
    - All authors’ names must be listed (do not use “et al.”).
    - DOIs must be provided for journal articles where available.
    - Authors are strongly encouraged to use reference management software (e.g., Mendeley).
