Abstract

Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis teks fungsional pendek dengan menggunakan teknik pembelajaran word square dan four square. Penelitian tindakan kelas ini dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus yaitu siklus 1 dan siklus 2. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 33 siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat peningkatan yang signifikan baik hasil belajar maupun motivasi belajar siswa. Dari data awal nilai rata-rata kelas: 74,00 menjadi 65,19 pada siklus 1 dan 80,48 pada siklus 2. Sedangkan persentase keaktifan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran meningkat dari data awal: 61,00% naik menjadi 81,81% pada siklus 1 dan 90,90% pada siklus 2.
