Author Guidelines

1. General Terms

PHARMACY: Jurnal Farmasi Indonesia (Pharmaceutical Journal of Indonesia) provides publication venue for original research and review articles in pharmaceutical sciences corresponding to the fields below:

- Pharmaceutical Technology,

- Pharmacology and Toxicology,

- Pharmaceutical Chemistry,

- Drug Discovery,

- Pharmacokinetics,

- Pharmaceutical Biology,

- Herbal Medicines,

- Pharmaceutics,

- Pharmaceutical Microbiology and Biotechnology,

- Community and Clinical Pharmacy, and

- Pharmaceutical Care.

All submitted manuscripts are original works and MUST NOT be previously published or under consideration for publication elsewhere. Research manuscripts must also be factual and original.

2. How to submit

Registered authors in PHARMACY: Jurnal Farmasi Indonesia (Pharmaceutical Journal of Indonesia) have to make sure fulfilling our format before submitting manuscripts to us. The author is required to submit the manuscript electronically by using the online journal system through this site.

3. Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors who do not adhere to these terms:

• The manuscript fits the Aims and Scope of the journal PHARMACY: Jurnal Farmasi Indonesia (Pharmaceutical Journal of Indonesia).
• The manuscript has been edited for grammar, spelling, consistency, and clarity
• The manuscript has not been considered for publications elsewhere also not yet published elsewhere.
• The ethical approval has been granted (specifically for research involving living creatures (humans, animals, and plants)
• Any conflicts of interest have been stated in the acknowledgment section.
• Any study registry number, if any, has been stated.
• The manuscript has been structured following submission guidelines.
• An unstructured abstract appropriate to the design of the study is included.
• Between four and eight keywords have been provided in alphabetical order.
• The title/abstract does not use abbreviations., the use of abbreviations/acronyms in the manuscript is minimized and limited to universally known abbreviations.
• All citations in the manuscript have a complete and accurate reference in the reference list. Every in-text citation has a corresponding citation in the reference list and each reference list citation has a corresponding in-text citation.
• Reference was written by using a standard citation application (Mendeley/Endnote/Zotero), in Harvard reference style.
• Each table has a clear and concise title. When appropriate, the title explains an abbreviation parenthetically
• All figures are numbered consecutively in the order in which they appear in the text — they will appear in the published article in the order they are numbered. Figure resolution is 300 dpi.

a. General Format: The first page of the manuscript should be the title page, containing the full name of the authors without academic degrees and titles, author affiliations, and the corresponding author’s email address. The second page onwards should contain the manuscript body, which follows the standard structure of scientific articles: Title, Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results and Discussion, Conclusion, and Bibliography. The manuscript must be in English (preferred) or Bahasa Indonesia with a minimum of 5.000 words. The document is typed in A4 manuscript, 1 column, Calibri font, 11pt, and 1,0 spacing. The file must be in Word Document (.doc) or Rich Text Format (.rtf).

b. Title: Must be 12-15 words, typed in bold capital letters, describing the main area of work and excluding mathematical formulas. The title is typed in both Bahasa Indonesia and English. 

e. Abstract: Typed in both English and Bahasa Indonesia, 200-500 words that briefly explain the background, objectives, methods, results, and conclusion. For manuscripts written in English, the Abstract is written first and followed by Abstrak, and vice versa.

f. Keywords: Enlist 4-8 words or group of words arranged alphabetically.

g. Introduction: Explaining the background, problems, importance of research, brief literature review that relates directly to research or previous findings that need to be developed, and ended with a paragraph of research purposes. A balance must be kept between the pure and applied aspects of the subject. The introduction is presented in the form of paragraphs of approximately 1000 words.

h. Materials and Methods: Make sure that methods explanation can be repeated according to the details provided. It contains technical information of the study presented clearly. Therefore, readers can conduct research based on the techniques presented. Materials and equipment specifications are necessary. Approaches or procedures of study together with data analysis methods must be presented.

h. Results and Discussion: In general, an article will contain three to seven figures and tables. The same data can not be presented in the form of tables and figures. The results of the study are discussed to address the problem formulated, objectives and research hypotheses.

i. Tables and figures: Well-prepared tables and or figures must be of significant feature tables and figures because they convey the major observations to readers. Any information provided in tables and figures should not be repeated in the text, the text should focus on the importance of the principal findings of the study. It is highly recommended that the discussion be focused on why and how of the research findings can happen and to extend to which the research findings can be applied to other relevant problems. 

j. Conclusion: The main conclusions of the study should be presented in a short Conclusions section, which stands alone. You should explain whether your findings supported your hypothesis. Avoid using references in conclusion section. Conclusion should be withdrawn on the basis of research findings, formulated concerns and research purposes. Conclusion is presented in one paragraph without numerical form of expression.

k. Acknowledgement: Contributors who are not mentioned as authors should be acknowledged, and their particular contribution should be described. All sources of funding for the work must be acknowledged, both the research funder and the grant number (if applicable) should be given for each source of funds.

l. References: written by using standard citation application (Mendeley/Endnote/Zotero). Harvard reference style is required.

 5. Notification 

An acknowledgement letter will be sent to the corresponding author email address immediately of submission. This letter indicates that we have received your submission and not as an indicator of the journal acceptance. We encourage all authors to register for an ORCID iD (ORCiD) and include their ORCiD in their author profile at or before manuscript submission.

6. Copyright notice

Authors who publish with this journal considered agreed to retain copyright and grant the journal right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License that allows others to share the work with an acknowledgement of the work's authorship and initial publication in this journal.
