Cheating among students is a phenomenon that needs attention. Online-based exams during the covid-19 pandemic triggered many students to commit academic fraud (Amzalag et al., 2021). Many factors that influence cheating behavior, researchers intend to determine the effect of fear of failure on cheating behavior through academic self-efficacy. The number of samples in this study amounted to 131 college students, using random sampling technique. Data collection using 3 questionnaires, namely The Performance Failure Appraisal Inventory (α = 0.956 and validity = 0.415 - 1.116), Academic Self-Efficacy Scale (α = 0.951 and validity = 0.232 - 0.790), and Academic Dishonesty Scale (α = 0.901 and validity = 0.208 - 1, 218). The result of this study is that the fear of failure in students makes confidence in academic ability decrease, thus affecting the level of cheating behavior (sig. value ≤ 0.05). It was found that male students tend to experience more fear of failure and cheating behavior than women.References
