PBL is defined, its underlying concepts explored, and its primary objectives outlined. The discussion delves into how PBL differs from traditional teaching methods, emphasizing its student-centered nature and focus on higher-order thinking skills. Key characteristics of PBL, including authentic problem scenarios, collaborative learning, and self-directed inquiry, are examined. The article further elucidates the role of the teacher as a facilitator in PBL, guiding students through the problem-solving process. Additionally, the potential benefits of PBL, such as enhanced critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and motivation, are discussed. By understanding the fundamental principles of PBL, educators can effectively implement this approach in their classrooms to foster deep learning and prepare students for the challenges of the 21st century.
