Mathematics is a language and algebra is that language. Algebra brings us to understand more complex problems. However, in reality, many students experience difficulties in learning algebra which requires the ability to understand symbols, operations and rules. This ability is explored in algebraic reasoning which includes the skills to understand patterns and make generalizations. This article aims to describe algebraic reasoning as the key to success in understanding algebraic concepts.
The aim of this research is to understand the essence of mathematics learning for early childhood, understand integrated mathematics education, understand the principles of mathematics learning in children, understand learning standards for children and understand children's beginner numeracy skills. The research method used in this research is a literature review. The results of this research provide 6 basic principles that must be seriously incorporated into mathematics programs in schools, namely the principles of equality, curriculum, teaching, learning, assessment and technology. Mathematical experience is a basic skill in children which includes coincidence, grouping and ordering.
