Abstract

This research aims to find out about the influence of teacher professionalism on student development. This research was conducted by interviewing experienced teachers and using a qualitative approach. The results of the research show that in learning activities professional teachers are needed to educate and form good character for students.  Professional teachers are teachers who have greater ability to carry out their main duties of educating students. Teachers can be said to be professional if they have fulfilled four competencies, namely pedagogical, personality, professional and social. Teachers must also always learn to develop teacher competence. In this digital era, technology is widely used for learning activities. With rapidly developing technology, it becomes easier for teachers to create learning media and it is hoped that this will make learning activities easier. The role of professional teachers is very important to achieve learning activities and improve student learning achievement.
