Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of agricultural credit access and plantation land area on the productivity of smallholder oil palm in Indonesia using annual time series data over the past 15 years. The analytical method used is the Cobb-Douglas production function, which links independent variables, namely smallholder plantation area, agricultural credit distribution, and the number of smallholder farmers, with the dependent variable, which is oil palm production. The study includes stationarity tests, classical assumption tests, and goodness-of-fit tests. The analysis results indicate that both land area and credit access have a significant impact on smallholder oil palm productivity, where an increase in land area contributes positively to production output. These findings provide valuable insights for policy development that supports the oil palm plantation sector to be more productive, inclusive, and sustainable, while addressing the challenges faced by smallholder farmers in accessing the necessary resources and technologies. This study is expected to serve as a reference in formulating more effective strategies to improve the welfare of smallholder oil palm farmers in Indonesia.
