ABSTRACT Curcuma xanthorriza Roxb is one of the traditional plant that has pharmacological effect as the hepatoprotector, hipocholesterol, anti-inflamation lactagogum, diuretic and tonicum. The purpose of this research are to find out the effect of gelatin and dextrin combination to produce granule with good physicial characteristic, to know respondent’s opinion on the product and to explore whether the product still contain volatile oil and curcuminoid as active compounds. Method of extraction use in this research is maceration with ethanol 70% as solvent. Granule are prepared by wet granulation with gelatin and dextrin combination, they are FI (4:79.8), FII (6:77.8), FIII (8:75.8). The result shows that all formulas fulfill the good granule specification in physical characteristic. Granule instants of Curcuma xanthorriza Roxb extract can be accepted by respondents. TLC result shows that granules still contain volatile oil and curcuminoid. Key words: Curcuma xanthorriza Roxb, gelatin, dextrin, volatile oil, curcuminoid.References
