ABSTRACT A research on formulation of tali putri herb (Cuscuta australis R.Br.) and its antioxidant activity has been conducted. This research were aimed to formulate ethanolic extract of tali putri herb lotion, examine its physical characteristic and also antioxidant activity by FTC (Ferric Thiocyanate) method. Extraction was carried out by maceration method. Research used 3 formulas contain 3% tali putri extract with variation of lanolin concentration, they were 3% for formula I, 4% for formula II, 5% for formula III. Positive control used 0,2% vitamin E with 4% lanolin and negative control did not used tali putri extract with 4% lanolin. Lotion was examined physical characteristic (pH, viscosity, homogeneity, stability, dispersive and adhesive). Lotion was also examined for antioxidant activity by FTC method. Obtained data was analyzed using one way ANOVA with level of convidence 95%. Research result indicated that lotion of 3% tali putri herb extract at formula I with lanolin concentration 3% had antioxidant activity which comparable with that of vitamin E. Key word: tali putri (Cuscuta australis R.Br.) Herb, antioxidant, FTC, lanolin, lotionReferences
