Abstract

ABSTRACT Osteoarthritis disease is more common in geriatric patients, whom can suffer complications that require many medication to overcome. Too much medicine used is likely to lead to drug interactions and dosage problems. This research was done to study drug interaction and dosing problems of osteoarthritis patient in two hospital. The method of this research was analytic observational through cross sectional design and retrospective data finding from patient medical record. Researcher used chi square test in bivariate analysis with SPSS. Statistical results showed that the incidence of drug interactions were significantly difference between RSUD Prof. Dr. Margono Soekardjo Purwokerto and RS Wijaya Kusuma (p=0.021), while in dosage problems, there weren’t significant differences between RSUD Prof. Dr. Margono Soekardjo Purwokerto dan RS Wijaya Kusuma (p=0.140). The incidence of drug interactions were significantly difference between RSUD Prof. Dr. Margono Soekardjo Purwokerto and RS Wijaya Kusuma, in contrast to the incidence of dosage problems. Key words: osteoarthritis, drug interaction, dosage, two hospital.
