Abstract

Online buying and selling as it is today offers many benefits, including providing convenience and shortening shopping time. However, besides the benefits, some risks cause concern for those involved in these transactions. The most common risks include online fraud. This community service activity aims to provide education and knowledge about the dangers of fraud in online transactions and how to recognize and avoid them. This service is carried out through stages of observation, socialization, discussion, and direct freezing of the use of the website, namely Cekrekening.id, to verify the authenticity of accounts and evaluation of activities through questionnaires. This service activity involves the community in Sungai Kapih Village, which provides an in-depth understanding of how to detect online fraud schemes and improve transaction security. The results of distributing questionnaires as an instrument for evaluating activities showed a significant increase in participants' knowledge about online fraud risks. In addition, this activity also succeeded in increasing participants' confidence in protecting their personal information and utilizing account authenticity verification sites. The knowledge and skills obtained by participants in this activity are very useful for the community in protecting themselves from online fraud in the future.
