PENGARUH GELATIN, AMILUM DAN PVP SEBAGAIBAHAN PENGIKAT TERHADAP SIFAT FISIK TABLET EKSTRAK TEMULAWAK (Curcuma Xanthorrhiza, Rxob)

Abstrak Temulawak (Curcuma Xanthoriza, Roxb) merupakan salah satu obat alam yang banyak tersebar di Indonesia. Berdasarkan penelitian dan pengalaman, temulawak telah terbukti berkhasiat dalam menyembuhkan berbagai penyakit dan juga sebagai hepatoprotektor.Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui pengaruh gelatin, amilum dan PVP pada konsentrasi 5% sebagai bahan pengikat terhadap sifat fisik tablet ekstrak temulawak. Pembuatan tablet menggunakan metode granulasi basah. Dalam penelitian ini dibuat tiga formula dengan menggunakan bahan pengikat berbeda tetapi konsentrasinya sama (gelatin 5%, amilum 5%, PVP 5%).Tablet yang dihasilkan diuji sifat fisiknya yaitu keseragaman bobot, kekerasan, kerapuhan dan waktu hancur. Data yang diperoleh dilakukan uji Anava satu jalan dan apabila ada perbedaan dilanjutkan uji BNT. Berdasarkan hasil percobaan diperoleh bahwa gelatin sebagai bahan pengikat tablet ekstrak temulawak menghasilkan tablet yang kekerasannya relatif besar, kerapuhannya kecil dan waktu hancurnya lama. Amilum sebagai bahan pengikat menghasilkan tablet ekstrak temulawak yang kekerasannya kecil, kerapuhannya relatif besar, waktu hancur cepat. PVP sebagai bahan pengikat menghasilkan tablet ekstrak temulawak yang kekerasannya kecil, kerapuhannya relatif besar dan waktu hancurnya cepat. Kata kunci : Temulawak (Curcuma Xanthoriza, Roxb), gelatin, amilum , PVP Abstract Temulawak (Curcuma Xanthoriza, Roxb) is one of medicinal plant in Indonesia., temulawak has been known effective as hepatoprotector. The purpose of this study is to determine the influence of gelatin, amilum and PVP at concentration of 5% as a binder to the physical properties of temulawak extract tablets. Tablets are made using wet granulation method. There are three formulas using different binder. The resulting tablets are tested for physical properties (weight uniformity, hardness, fragility, and disintegration time). The obtained data then proceed with one way anova and BNT test. From experimental results obtained that the gelatin as binder of temulawak extract tablet produced relatively hard, small fragility and long disintegration time, amilum as a tablet binder produce temulawak ekstract tablets that had the small level of hardness, the fragility are relatifely big,quick time destruction and PVP as a binder produce temulawak extract tablet that had the small level of hardness, the fragility are relatifely big and quick time destruction.
