Pengaruh Jenis Cairan Penyari terhadap Aktivitas Antioksidan Daun Kembang Bulan (Tithonia diversifolia (Hemsi.) A.Grey) dengan Metode ABTS

Radikal bebas berkontribusi pada beberapa gangguan pada manusia termasuk ateroklerosis, radang sendi, iskemia, gastritis, kanker dan inflamasi. Kembang bulan (Tithonia diversifolia (Hemsi.) A.Grey) merupakan spesies tumbuhan yang mempunyai potensi untuk dikembangkan sebagai antioksidan. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengamati pengaruh jenis cairan penyari terhadap bioaktivitas kembang bulan sebagai antioksidan dalam meredam radikal 2,2'-azino-bis-3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid (ABTS). Sampel dimaserasi menggunakan tiga cairan penyari yaitu etanol 70%, etil asetat, dan n-heksan. Sedangkan potensinya sebagai antioksidan diuji dengan metode ABTS. Hasil penelitian menunjukan aktivitas antioksidan ekstrak etanol 70%, etil asetat dan n-heksan berturut-turut memberikan nilai IC50sebesar 56,71 µg/ml (kuat), 106,47 µg/ml (sedang) dan 191,57 µg/ml (lemah) dan vitamin C sebagai pembanding 10,46 µg/ml (sangat kuat). Semakin polar cairan penyari semakin kuat aktivitas antioksidan daun kembang bulan dalam meredam radikal ABTS.
