Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Author Guidelines

  1. Articles submitted to the AlphaMath journal should present research findings in Mathematics Education.
  2. Manuscripts must adhere to the author guidelines provided in the MS Word article template (download the MS Word article template here).
  3. Manuscripts should be submitted via the Open Journal System (OJS) at http://jurnalnasional.ump.ac.id/index.php/alphamath/about/submissions.
  4. Submitted manuscripts must be original works that have not been previously published, with a maximum similarity index of 25%.
  5. All authors must be listed in the OJS during the article submission process.
  6. Articles must be written in English, with titles for each section.
  7. The structure of research articles should include the following sections: article title, author's name, institution/affiliation name, e-mail address, abstract, keywords, introduction, research methods, results and discussion, conclusions, and references.
  8. Article titles should not exceed 14 words, be centered, use Palatino Linotype in 14-point font size, bold, and capitalize each word.
  9. Author identities should include full names without academic titles. If there are multiple authors, all names should be listed along with their respective institutions and email addresses, using Palatino Linotype in 10-point font size, bold. The editor will correspond with the primary author or the first-listed author.
  10. Abstracts should be written in both English and Indonesian, ranging from 150 to 250 words, single-spaced, using Palatino Linotype, 10pt. Abstracts should clearly outline the objectives, methods, and research results in one paragraph.
  11. Keywords should consist of 3-5 words, separated by commas, and listed alphabetically. Keywords and abstracts inputted in OJS must be in English.
  12. The introduction should address the issues underlying the research, responses to these issues, previous studies, the novelty of the research, and the research aims. This section should be integrated into paragraphs without subtitles.
  13. The method section should detail the research design, procedures, data sources, instruments, data collection techniques, and data analysis techniques.
  14. The research results section should explain the processed research findings.
  15. The discussion section should analyze the research results in-depth, linking them to theory or other research findings to highlight the novelty of the results.
  16. The conclusion should summarize the research findings in response to the research questions, presented in paragraphs without numbering or bullets.
  17. Acknowledgements should be given to individuals or entities that significantly contributed to the research, either through funding or conducting the research.
  18. References should include at least 30 sources published within the last ten years, with at least 80% from journal articles (national or international). Two references should be cited from the AlphaMath journal. Authors must input all references used in OJS.
  19. Citations and bibliography should follow the American Psychological Association (APA) 7th edition style, and the use of Mendeley is recommended.
  20. Editors will review all manuscripts according to their expertise. Authors may revise their manuscripts based on editor recommendations or suggestions. The acceptance or rejection of the manuscript will be communicated through OJS.
  21. Authors are responsible for obtaining licenses for citations or using software to prepare manuscripts. Any legal consequences will be the author's responsibility.
  22. Authors whose articles are published will be charged a fee.
  23. Accepted articles will be published in print with p-ISSN 2477-409X and online in the Open Journal System (OJS) at http://jurnalnasional.ump.ac.id/index.php/alphamath/index, e-ISSN 2549-9084.
