Training on Making Face Mist from Cucumber Juice for Increasing Economic Empowerment and Skills of PKK Members in Tajen Village, Tabanan-Bali

Changes in environmental temperature caused by a drastic increase in ultraviolet (UV) radiation caused problems with human skin, so special protection was needed for the skin. A natural ingredient that was believed to protect the skin and soften, it was cucumber. Cucumbers were one of the main commodities in Tajen Village, Tabanan-Bali, they used it as vegetables only. Cucumbers contain natural antioxidants which neutralize reactive free radicals thereby protecting the skin from damage caused by UV rays. This service activity aimed to provide education to the people of Tajen Village, especially PKK members, in processing cucumbers into cosmetic products in the form of face mist, which could hydrate the skin, remove oil from the skin, and be easily absorbed so that it had a fast effect. The implementation stages of the service activities consisted of preparation, implementation which included a pretest, presentation of material, demonstration of making cucumber juice face mist, discussion, and evaluation of the participant's level of knowledge. The results of this activity showed that the percentage of knowledge level before being given treatment was 66.9% and after this was 88.8%. These results were tested using a Paired Sample T-Test and obtained a Sig value. 0.000, which means a significant difference between the level of knowledge. Implementing this activity increased the Tajen Village community's knowledge and skills in using cucumbers to make a cosmetic face mist, which the community hoped could become a product with higher economic value.
