Peer Review Process
All manuscripts submitted to Dinamika: Jurnal Ilmiah Pendidikan Dasar undergo a rigorous, transparent, and ethical peer-review process to ensure the quality, originality, scholarly significance, and international publication standards of the journal. The journal adheres to internationally recognized principles of academic publishing, research integrity, and publication ethics.
1. Initial Editorial Assessment
Upon submission, each manuscript is first evaluated by the Editor-in-Chief and/or the editorial team to determine its suitability for further review. The initial assessment includes evaluation of:
- Relevance to the journal’s focus and scope
- Originality, novelty, and scholarly contribution
- Theoretical and conceptual adequacy
- Methodological rigor and research validity
- Clarity, coherence, and academic writing quality
- Compliance with author guidelines and publication ethics
At this stage, manuscripts may be rejected without external review if they:
- fall outside the journal’s scope,
- demonstrate insufficient scholarly contribution,
- contain substantial methodological weaknesses,
- fail to meet academic writing standards, or
- show indications of plagiarism, ethical misconduct, or duplicate publication.
Authors are generally notified of the initial editorial decision within two to three weeks after submission.
2. Double-Blind Peer Review
Manuscripts that pass the initial editorial assessment are subjected to a double-blind peer review process, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed to maintain fairness, objectivity, and academic integrity.
Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent reviewers with expertise relevant to the manuscript’s subject area. In cases of conflicting recommendations, the manuscript may be assigned to an additional reviewer or evaluated further by the editorial board.
Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on the following criteria:
- Originality, novelty, and theoretical contribution
- Relevance and significance to the field of elementary education
- Methodological rigor, transparency, and validity
- Depth of analysis, interpretation, and scholarly discussion
- Clarity of presentation and logical coherence
- Adequacy and relevance of references and literature integration
- Ethical compliance and research integrity
The peer-review process generally takes approximately four to eight weeks, depending on reviewer availability and the complexity of the manuscript.
3. Revision Process
Authors receiving revision decisions are required to revise their manuscripts systematically and submit:
- a revised version of the manuscript, and
- a detailed response letter addressing all reviewer and editor comments point-by-point.
Revised manuscripts may undergo further review by the original reviewers and/or the editorial team to ensure that all concerns have been adequately addressed. Failure to submit revisions within the specified timeframe may result in withdrawal of the manuscript from the review process unless an extension is requested and approved by the editorial office.
4. Final Editorial Decision
The final decision regarding manuscript publication is made by the Editor-in-Chief based on reviewer recommendations, the scientific quality of the manuscript, the adequacy of revisions, and the manuscript’s alignment with the journal’s standards and editorial priorities. The possible editorial decisions are:
- Accept without revision
- Accept with minor revisions
- Reconsider after major revisions
- Reject
The Editor-in-Chief reserves the right to make the final publication decision in accordance with the journal’s ethical standards, editorial policies, and academic quality requirements.
