Publication Ethics

Dinamika: Jurnal Ilmiah Pendidikan Dasar (DJIPD) is a peer-reviewed, open-access scholarly journal committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics, academic integrity, and research transparency. The journal adheres to the ethical principles established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing, and applicable national regulations governing scientific publication.

This publication ethics statement applies to all parties involved in the publication process, including authors, editors, reviewers, editorial board members, and the publisher.

A. General Principles

DJIPD is committed to promoting ethical, transparent, and responsible research practices in elementary and primary education. The journal ensures that:

  • Published articles contribute significantly to the advancement of knowledge, theory, policy, and practice in elementary education.
  • Editorial decisions are made solely on the basis of scholarly merit, originality, methodological rigor, and relevance to the journal’s scope.
  • Research involving human participants, including children, teachers, parents, and educational stakeholders, complies with recognized ethical standards and institutional regulations.
  • All participants' rights, dignity, privacy, and well-being are protected throughout the research process.
  • Academic freedom, diversity of perspectives, and intellectual independence are respected.

B. Authors’ Responsibilities

Originality and Academic Integrity: Authors must submit original manuscripts that have not been published previously and are not under consideration elsewhere. The journal strictly prohibits: Plagiarism, Self-plagiarism, Data fabrication, Data falsification, Citation manipulation, Image manipulation, and Duplicate or redundant publication. All submissions are screened using plagiarism detection software before entering the peer-review process.

Data Transparency and Research Integrity: Authors are responsible for ensuring that all reported data are accurate, reliable, and honestly presented. Authors may be requested to provide raw data, research instruments, ethical approval documents, or additional supporting materials to verify the validity and reproducibility of the research.

Authorship: Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made substantial scholarly contributions to research conception, data collection, manuscript drafting, and final approval. All authors share collective responsibility for the integrity of the work. Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools may assist in language refinement, but cannot be listed as authors and must be disclosed within the manuscript.

Ethical Approval & Conflicts of Interest: Research involving human participants must include a statement regarding ethical clearance, informed consent, and participant protection. Authors must also disclose any financial, institutional, professional, or personal relationships that may influence the conduct or interpretation of their research.

C. Reviewers’ Responsibilities

  • Confidentiality: Reviewers must treat all manuscripts as confidential documents and must not use unpublished information for personal advantage.
  • Objectivity: Reviews should be fair, objective, evidence-based, respectful, and constructive. Personal criticism of authors is inappropriate.
  • Conflict of Interest & Vigilance: Reviewers should decline invitations when conflicts of interest arise and are encouraged to notify editors of any concerns regarding plagiarism, duplicate publication, or research misconduct.

D. Editors’ Responsibilities

The Editorial Board is responsible for safeguarding the quality, integrity, and independence of the publication process. Editors shall evaluate manuscripts solely on academic merit, ensure a fair and unbiased double-blind peer-review process, maintain reviewer anonymity, and avoid conflicts of interest. Editorial decisions are not influenced by authors’ nationality, institutional affiliation, ethnicity, gender, religion, political beliefs, or other personal characteristics.

E. Publisher’s Responsibilities

The publisher supports the editorial independence of DJIPD and is committed to maintaining ethical publishing standards. The publisher shall support transparent editorial processes, maintain digital preservation, facilitate ethical oversight, and promote best practices in scholarly communication and open science.

F. Allegations of Research Misconduct

Research misconduct includes plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, misrepresentation of data, authorship manipulation, citation manipulation, peer-review manipulation, or undisclosed conflicts of interest. When allegations arise, the Editorial Board will conduct a preliminary assessment and the corresponding author will be invited to provide clarification. If misconduct is confirmed prior to publication, the manuscript will be rejected immediately. If confirmed after publication, the journal may publish corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions.

G. Complaints and Appeals

DJIPD provides a transparent mechanism for handling complaints and appeals related to editorial decisions, peer-review processes, publication ethics concerns, or alleged misconduct. All complaints must be submitted in writing to the Editor-in-Chief. Appeals will be evaluated objectively by the Editorial Board and independent experts.
