RETRACTION, WITHDRAWAL, CORRECTION, REMOVAL, AND REPLACEMENT POLICY
Policy Statement
Dinamika Jurnal Ilmiah Pendidikan Dasar (DJIPD)
Dinamika Jurnal Ilmiah Pendidikan Dasar (DJIPD) is committed to preserving the integrity, transparency, and reliability of the scholarly record. While the journal strives to ensure the accuracy of all published content through rigorous editorial and peer-review processes, situations may arise in which a published or accepted article requires correction, withdrawal, retraction, removal, or replacement.
DJIPD follows the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and internationally recognized best practices in scholarly publishing. Any post-publication action will be conducted transparently, fairly, and consistently to maintain trust among authors, reviewers, editors, readers, and the wider academic community.
1 Article Retraction
An article may be retracted when there is clear evidence that its findings, conclusions, or data are unreliable due to:
- Research misconduct, including fabrication, falsification, or plagiarism.
- Major methodological or analytical errors that invalidate the findings.
- Duplicate or redundant publication.
- Unethical research practices.
- Undisclosed conflicts of interest that significantly affect the interpretation of the work.
- Serious violations of publication ethics.
Retraction Procedure
- Concerns may be raised by editors, reviewers, authors, readers, institutions, or third parties.
- The Editor-in-Chief and Editorial Board will conduct a thorough investigation following COPE guidelines.
- Authors will be given an opportunity to respond to the allegations and provide supporting evidence.
- Where necessary, the journal may consult independent experts or relevant institutions.
- If retraction is warranted, a formal Retraction Notice will be published and permanently linked to the original article.
To preserve the scholarly record:
- The original article will remain accessible online.
- Each page of the article will be clearly marked as “Retracted.”
- The reasons for retraction will be transparently documented.
2 Article Withdrawal
DJIPD recognizes that authors may occasionally need to withdraw a manuscript before publication.
| Tahapan / Kondisi | Kebijakan Withdrawal |
|---|---|
| Before Peer Review | Authors may request withdrawal by submitting a written request explaining the reasons for withdrawal. |
| During Peer Review | Once a manuscript has entered the peer-review process, withdrawal requests will be considered only under exceptional circumstances and require approval from the Editorial Office. |
| After Acceptance | Withdrawal requests submitted after acceptance will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Authors are expected to provide a clear and reasonable justification for the request. |
Editorial Withdrawal
The journal may withdraw manuscripts under editorial consideration when evidence of publication ethics violations is identified, including: Plagiarism, Duplicate submission, Fraudulent authorship, Fabricated data, or other forms of research misconduct. In such cases, a Withdrawal Notice may be issued where appropriate.
3 Article Correction
DJIPD supports the correction of published articles when errors are identified that do not invalidate the overall findings or conclusions. The journal may publish:
- • Erratum: Issued when errors are introduced during editorial processing, production, or publication.
- • Corrigendum: Issued when authors identify errors in their published work that require correction but do not compromise the validity of the research.
- • Addendum: Issued when additional information, clarification, or updates are necessary to improve readers’ understanding of the article.
Correction Procedure
- Authors or readers notify the Editorial Office of the issue.
- Editors assess the significance of the reported error.
- Appropriate correction measures are determined.
- A formal correction notice is published and linked to the original article.
4 Article Removal
Article removal is considered only in exceptional circumstances where maintaining access to the content could result in significant legal, ethical, or public harm. Removal may occur when:
- The content is defamatory or unlawful.
- Publication violates privacy rights or confidentiality agreements.
- Legal action or court orders require removal.
- The article poses significant risks to public safety or security.
When removal is necessary, the article metadata (title, authorship information, DOI, publication details) will remain available, but the article content will be replaced with a Removal Notice explaining the reason.
5 Article Replacement
In rare circumstances, DJIPD may permit article replacement when substantial errors are identified but complete removal is not warranted. Replacement may be considered when significant inaccuracies are discovered, corrected data become available, or errors have the potential to mislead readers.
Replacement Procedure
- Authors submit a revised and corrected manuscript.
- The revised version undergoes editorial assessment and, where appropriate, additional peer review.
- A Replacement Notice is published.
- Both the original and replacement versions remain linked to ensure transparency and traceability.
6 Post-Publication Responsibility
Authors, editors, reviewers, and readers share responsibility for maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record. DJIPD encourages the reporting of errors, ethical concerns, research misconduct, and data integrity issues. The journal is committed to responding promptly, fairly, and transparently to all substantiated concerns.
7 Commitment to Scholarly Integrity
DJIPD considers the correction of the scholarly record an essential component of responsible academic publishing. Through adherence to COPE recommendations and international publication ethics standards, the journal seeks to ensure that all published research remains trustworthy, transparent, and valuable to the global educational research community.
