Globalization, demographic changes, and technological advances are the main driving forces of development in the 21st Century and shape the changes that will occur in the future. Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (collectively abbreviated as STEM) education has developed as a curriculum that aims to improve students' skills by presenting a cohesive learning platform that is largely based on real-world applications. Today, customers have extremely high expectations of design, whether it is customer service, fast access to information, or products that are aesthetically relevant to today's culture, all of which are driven by design-driven value creation. The methodical approach that engineers use to create products is known as the Engineering Design Process. In this process, design experts utilize virtual and simple prototyping to answer specific design questions. With this background, the shipping engineering study program with the school helps students develop 21st-century competencies by introducing the Engineering Design Process in the Electric Catamaran Type RC Boat Making Training at SMKN 05 Tanjungpinang. Building on a strong foundation of character and 21st-century competencies is expected to enable students to develop inside and outside of school.
