Optimasi dan Pola Pertumbuhan Spirulina sp. yang Dikultur Semi Massal Menggunakan Media Fermentasi dan Ekstraksi Azolla

Spirulina sp. merupakan salah satu jenis mikroalga yang dapat dimanfaatkan dalam bidang pangan, farmasi, dan akuakultur sehingga perlu dibudidayakan secara massal. Namun, upaya budidaya Spirulina sp. masih menghadapi kendala, terutama terkait tingginya biaya penggunaan pupuk kimia sebagai sumber nutrien dalam media kultur. Oleh karena itu diperlukan upaya untuk menghemat biaya pembuatan media kultur. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan media kultur yang diperkaya dengan pupuk organic cair fermentasi dan ekstraksi Azolla terhadap pertumbuhan Spirulina sp. yang dikultur semi massal. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL), terdiri dari 3 perlakuan, masing-masing perlakuan diulang tiga kali. Perlakuan yang dicobakan adalah P1 (pupuk an organic sebagai kontrol), P2 (pupuk organic cair fermentasi Azolla), dan P3 (ekstrak Azolla). Variabel penelitian meliputi pola pertumbuhan, pertumbuhan kepadatan sel, dan laju pertumbuhan harian Spirulina sp. Pola pertumbuhan dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif, sedangkan pertumbuhan kepadatan sel dan laju pertumbuhan harian sel Spirulina sp. dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan pupuk organic cair fermentasi dan ekstrak Azolla mampu meningkatkan pertumbuhan sel Spirulina sp. secara optimal. Sedangkan pola pertumbuhan sel Spirulina sp. menunjukkan pola yang sama, namun waktu mencapai puncak populasinya berbeda. Penggunaan pupuk organik cair fermentasi Azolla menghasilkan pertumbuhan yang paling baik.
